Golden, who has been the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame since 2022, has built a reputation for creating robust, disciplined defenses, which is exactly what the Bengals need after a lackluster defensive performance in the 2024 season. Golden's tenure at Notre Dame has been marked by a defense that finished second in points allowed per game this past season, showcasing his ability to lead and organize a unit that can adapt and compete at a high level.
